Anyone who is in the ‘third age’ of life, who is no longer in full-time paid employment is eligible to join the U3A.
If you become a member of Wigtownshire U3A, you are entitled to attend the monthly meetings, join as many groups as you wish, free of charge, and also attend other U3A meetings throughout the UK.
The annual membership fee is £20 and entitles members to join any of the interest groups and to attend the monthly meetings. Interest groups may also make an additional small charge to cover room hire and refreshments.
Monthly talks are free to all members and open to visitors at a cost of just £3.00. They are held in the County Buildings Wigtown, usually on the last Friday of the month at 10.00 am. Look out for the posters advertising the speaker for the coming month. We have tea and coffee on arrival and that gives visitors, plus old and new members, time to chat and find out about what is happening in all the groups.
Activities/Groups available throughout the week include:
Table Tennis
Music Appreciation
Playing Music
Literature

and much more.
See the calendar of activities on the website.
Further benefits include access to all the facilities on the national U3A website (www.u3a.org.uk). These include on-line learning resources and courses, subject links, U3A publication downloads and special deals for U3A members.
